Father: Henry Thomas ROWAN ( - 1916)
Mother: Elizabeth Harriet MOULTON (19/12/1859 - 2/12/1903)

David enlisted 30 January 1915 at Liverpool. He was living at Yerranderie and gave his occupation as Miner/Baker and his next of kin his father Mr H.T. Rowan of Yerranderie.

David served in the 3rd Battalion A.I.F. He departed Sydney on the 'Shropshire' 17 March 1915 arrived Gallipoli 31 May 1915.

His brother Harry ROWAN (Private 524) (b. Hill End) served in the 5th Machine Gun Battalion A.I.F. from 1916. He was wounded in action (gassed) in France 25 April 1918. He returned to Australia on the 'Wyreema' 3rd June 1919.

Private David ROWAN was killed in action at Gallipoli between 7 and 12 August 1915 age 21.
